Hi, I'm a senior and I have not tried out for the football team all these years because I did not like the coach, he was a jerk to me. I am coming back for a 5th year and thinking of trying out, is there a slight chance I'll make it? The new head coach even came up to me and told me to give it a shot. I want to go out for the High School team because I've been wanting to go out for the team since grade 9, but I did not like the coach.

I'd say go for it. Since you'll be a year older than other seniors, you probably have a bit of a size advantage (if you've lifted prior to this season). The only thing you'll have to watch for is that you'll be allowed to play. In some states there are rules against players over the age of 18 playing. I don't know if you'll be 19 before the season's over, but if you will be, you should check it out before you get your heart set on it. Good luck next season!

If you never try, you'll never get on the team!
It's worth a shot even if it doesn't come to anything. If you don't get on the team and you really do want to, just keep at it and try again next time.
Just don't miss the opportunity and regret it!

FIRST OFF! GIVE IT A SHOT...UNLESS YOUR 18. CUZ IF YOUR 18 YOU CANNOT PLAY ANY HIGH SCHOOL SPORT. DEPENDING ON HOW GOOD YOU ARE . REALLY TRULY HONESTLY. DON'T EXPECT TO GET GAME TIME. ESPECIALLY IF THE TEAM HAS RETURNERS COMING BACK. BUT EVEN THEN. U SHOULD GO FOR IT. CUZ ONE DAY YOU MIGHT REGRET IT. YOU NEVER KNOW. U COULD PLAY COLLEGE!...ONE THING MY GRANDPA TOLD ME..." the expeirences you have on a football team are unlike anything you will ever know through out your lifetime.If you try out for the team, you will not regret it.

I hated my coach but I went for It and now I scored a td in our State championship game and now i have a ring and it feels good.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
