IM is Instant Messanger. It is a way you can talk to friends over the internet quicker than email. If you want to download it, I wouldnt recommend AOL Instant Messanger because it makes your computer slower, but you should use Yahoo! Instant Messanger. There aren't any viruses attached, and it wont slow down your computer.

IM means instant messaging and there are different kinds. theres Aol instant messanger (aim) theres yahoo messanger and then theres msn messanger. theres probably alot more. but then you make a screen name and download the program and then you sign in and you can talk to your friends or family or whoever you want to on it but you have to get their screen names first and if they dont have a screen name then you cant talk to them through IM

'IM-ing' is faster than emailing. Once you send a message to someone they automatically get it and you would get a message from them automatically too once they send a message back.
