That's decent but that'll get you in the bottom relays (lanes 1 or 6 in a 6 lane pool and lanes 1 or 8 in an 8 lane pool).

I'm a sophomore myself and I've been swimming since last year when I started and now my times are 28.8 for 50 free and 1:04.67 for the 100 free and this lets me anchor one of the lower relays (our team is stacked with freestyle sprinters as it is) but you really want to get that 50 time down to within at the very least 31. I know that championship time is coming up so be prepared to swim really strong come your races. Give the 50 everything you have because you won't be tired until you finish the race. As for the 100 make sure you flip over on your flip turns as fast as you can and get a nice good streamline coming off your start and your flip turns. Also work on your stroke technique coming up to championship time since this can further cut your time.

Sorry bud that's not fast for competitive swimming. Normally you want to be around a minute for the 100 and somewhere around 27 secs for the 50.

I would say you need to touch 30 sec for 50 m.
I know in Sri Lanka an 8 year old boy called Mathew abeysinghe has done the 50 m in 33 sec.so in your age you need to improve a bit. for 100 m you need to catch 1:10 in free.dk

depends on how long you have been swimming and how well your techinique is. my time for freestyle is 34 seconds from last swim season[ my first year swimming] i am planning to try to get my time at 30 seconds and lower this swim season. if you keep working you will be real fast...

im not sure how old a 10thgrader is since im not american. but 33sec for 50 meters freestyle would be good for anyone under 16ish. above that it gets more and more average.
