I know that men are generally better at spatial thinking and women are generally better at things like writing, but is there proof that one gender is smarter than the other?

I'd like some sources that aren't general experience.

Each and every person is smart in his or her own way, and some in more ways than one.
It doesn't have anything to do with gender.

There really is no proof that one gender is smarter then the other but there is proof that intelligence in males and females is equal. The reason you dont necessarily see in the class room or in other highly social situations is because a type of societal "norm" for girls to downplay their intelligence comes into play. And vice versa because theres a societal standard for guys to be more outgoing and to be "better" at things such as math or something guys do the opposite and up play their abilites even though the one downplaying it may actually be better then the one up playing at it. But when tested individually both males and females were tested to be pretty much the same level of intelligence, i dont remember specifically what study it was although there are multiple studies out there that prove it, but i learned it in a few psych classes. And as always everyone is always better at one particular thing then other people so intelligence measure is a really subjective thing.

I've heard that midwives have developed a new technique for telling if a baby is likely to be more intelligent or less.

They hold the baby up, smack it's bum and the willy falls off the dumb ones....

Seriously there is no real difference between genders for intelligence. The difference is how the intelligence is applied. For every Stephen Hawking or Einstein that the males claim there's a Jeremy Beadle or Ian Huntley. For every Mother Teresa there's a Jade Goody or Paris Hilton.

More women are graduating high school than men. Women are also starting to dominate the colleges in grades. Next to married couples, single women is the second largest group to own homes.

The difference in the macho races such African Americans and Hispanics is more pronounced women are better educated. This info represents the U.S. not outside it.

In the Bell Curve book by the way, Asians and then Jews topped the highest intelligence in the world. This intelligence by the way has nothing to do with grades in school nor success in life. Some of the intelligence measured were found in poor countries.

i do no longer know approximately intelligence regardless of the undeniable fact that that's a mans international. adult men are on the precise of politics, technologies, society... take a look into England. we've had one female PM... ONE. women could be assertive, harsh, and honest all on an identical time to prevail in the precise and in a international of adult men that's stressful to do. think of of being in a business enterprise. usually a guy holds the call of "Chairman" why is this? since's a mans international. have self assurance it or no longer, I hate sexism. Meh. there is not any element in asking me the question because of the fact i do no longer know, and that i do no longer care. the two genders make contributions the two to the international and you are able to not say one gender is greater clever than the different... clever in what particular aspects? adult men are bodily greater desirable yet women can bear greater discomfort. the two make contributions to the international and the two are needed.

I think no matter how many polls you take, none will be accurate. Everybody has different aptitudes. Sources wouldn't really help because just because a test on 100 men and women would show women are generally smarter or dumber, doesn't mean anything because it depends on who you choose for the test.

I've never seen any proof that showed one gender was more intelligent than the other.

I don't think the boundries include gender. we should look at individuals. differential psychology suggests that females are more perceptive than males, but generally don't act on thier feelings. but I still think, GO GIRL!
