Well she could die immediately. Just depends. And if you are her friend you would tell someone that could help her. I was anorexic and almost died, if she gets bad and yyou stand by and don't say something now, you should feel terrible. What does it matter when she will see results? And if this is you and you are trying to hind behind someone else I suggst you get help. Your body can go into shock with in a week or more from the lack of food and you can die. 500 lb people have been known to die from starvation ., from cutting back too quick too fast, it doesn't matter your size you can die quickly at 100lbs or 189lbs. You and your so called friend need help fast!

Ok, I am a Medical Student and it is a coincidence that this week's topic in our class is anorexia nervosa , bullimia, and bigger-exia.

Starving herself will just let in insufficient amount of oxygen go into the blood cells, and also cause your body to feel cold chills throughout the day for no reason, lack of energy, depression, missed or irregular periods (if a women) , deterioration of bone density and muscle tone, loss of apetite, and many other things which can totally put a hold on the enjoyment of human life.

The proper way would be to diet correctly ( I totally recommend the abs diet ) guidelines, as well as moderate exercise.

If you are hungry, your not healthy, is what we're being taught.

Doing this type of action also leads to health and growth defects.

The changes will appear depending on how much the person does this unhealthy act, and their own body structure, it wouldn't be long till she is enlisted into the local hospital for treatment though.

It is totally not recommended.

Starving herself is NOT the way to look good. Her body will go into starvation mode, which it does to protect its fat stores and instead uses lean tissue or muscle to provide it with some of the calories it needs to keep functioning. This directly leads to a loss of muscle, which in turn lowers metabolic rate so that the body needs fewer calories to keep ticking over and weight loss slows down. So she wont be losing fat, she'll be losing muscle and tissue. Weeks, maybe months before she sees the numbers drop.
Other things she'll notice is her heartrate and bloodpressure will fall. Her skin will become flaky and a nasty yellow color. She may start to lose her hair because of the lack of nutrients needed from food. Really fine hair will start to grow over her body. Nails will become brittle. Menstrual period will be irregular or even stop.
YOU NEED FOOD. She will not successfully lose wieght by starving herself. She'll mess up her body so badly.

She wouldn't be able to see herself because she is in denial about her weight. She sees herself as being fat and keeps on wanting to loose weight. The are things you can do for her-tell her parents, Talk to a school counsloer, talk to a friends or realtive that could help her. She will not listen to you-sorry to be harsh. It's going to be a long time before she sees what she is dong to herself. Please tell people and her loved ones.

why does this matter to you? seems to me like your using 'a friend of mine' in place of 'i am'..the question you should be asking is 'where can i get help for my friend?'
