if you are inquiring about a CAR, then i can almost garuntee that the wiring is not there from the factory.

if you are using the word CAR in place of the word VEHICLE, then i would would guess that you may be talking about a truck/suv in which case it is fairly easy because they generally have the option from the factory.

go to uhaul and get the harness for your vehicle. it will have instructions on installation.

It depends on a lot of things...first of all, do you have a car, suv, or truck? (I have a land rover & it had what looked like a hitch, but really wasn't b/c there was no proper wiring for the lights and I had to also purchase a ball & hitch set from the store) So, I would first try to see if you have the proper wiring for the hook up on the brake lights that you would need before even attaching the trailor. (you can look in your manual to see where the wiring would be, or just take the light cover off if it's not too hard) I know this isn't a great answer, but I have had to go through a lot of trouble w/ it before and maybe this can steer you in the right direction. I normally install everything myself on my car, but I almost think it would have been more worth it to take it to a place and pay more to have it installed there. It just really depends on what your car already has...

If the car had a trailer hitch attached already when you bought it,,then chances are that there is already a wiring hookup for the trailer lights.
If on the other hand,,there is no wiring already installed,,just go and get a trailer light plug kit from any parts store,,or RV center,,,its not too difficult to do yourself.

You can do it yourself, but you need to be sure that you do it correctly. Connections should be soldered and sealed with heat-shrink tape, not just crimped or twisted together. Crimping or twisting does not seal the connection from the weather, causing corrosion and eventually none of your tail/brake lights will work.

If you are having a hitch installed, just let them wire your trailer lights, also. If you have a hitch, see what they will charge to wire a connection at U-Haul or an RV dealer. It may be cheap enough that you won't want to mess with it yourself.

It would be very easy, I did my Durango.... you can get the wiring harness at K-mart or wallmart.... tractor supply...ect..... they come with wiring instructions. All you do is unplug your tail lights and plug them into the connectors on the wiring harness, then plug back to the lights, real easy.

its pretty easy...just go to walmart and pickup a cut trailer wiring harness and remove one of tail light and wire to it.

you probably need cheap electrical tester and wire splicer.
