I work at a plastics plant and do the wash for the mops and dustmops, and rags but i don't have an industrial washing machine. I use a high efficeny washing machine. Having a hard time finding detergent that will take out the grease and oil from these rags.

Hand cleaning products like "Goop" say on their label that it can be used in the laundry to do just what you are asking. Get the kind without pumice.

Have you tried adding some baking powder to the wash this loosen´s grease you might find it easier by putting them to soak with some of the washing powder you use a couple off tablespoons of baking powder use boiling hot water leave them for as long as you can then rinse them a wash in the machine, Fairy liquid is a good product for getting out grease but not sure if you have this where you live hope this helps you

I can't really help you with the cleaning but a word of extreme caution. DO NOT DRY THEM IN A HOT DRYER IF THEY STILL HAVE GREASE ON THEM. I know someone who did and the dryer caught on fire. Be careful. You might try Dawn Liquid. It's suppose to take grease out. Be worth a try. Also put in a scoop of Oxy Clean. Good Luck..

you know here in ontario we have a company that comes around and supplies new rags to use and takes the old ones away i dont know what they do with the old ones but we dont wash them
other then soaking them in liquid detergent then washing them i dont think you can do more.
you do know that fuel like gas or better still safer disel will make the grease break down . i myself would not make a habbit of washing a large number of them that way though .

racheo200...

ERA liquid works best on greasy stains.

i too have a high efficiency washer.

just use 1/2 the amount of detergent as you normally would.

if you get the ERA ULTRA use 1/3.

it's all i use.

hello there, try using oxi- clean, its better that bleach. oxy-clean contains hydrogen peroxide, also the softer the water the better the wash. use fabric softener in the wash load or a laundry booster, these have water softeners in them. good luck.

If you apply mechanics hand cleaner on the spots, and rub it in and then clean as usual.
