Shouldn't he? I think so, considering we're all deemed equal, according to our Constitution.

Obama is not Muslim so it is irrelevant but should a Muslim run for the Presidency we would have the same problem as illustrated in the lines bellow though this is written by an Indian:
30. Hem Raj Prabhakar
4. Telling to Muslims that their ancestors were the same as those of the Hindus, does not get us anywhere. I know it from personal experience, after having held a dialogue with my Muslim neighbours on this subject. They told me in so many words that the Koran and the Hadis do not permit them to join the national mainstream with Hindus. Islam, they told me, teaches that if an Islamic country attacks India, Muslims in India must help the invader. Muslims, they said, have to strive always to convert every Dar al-Harb into a Dar al-Islam with the help of Muslims from other lands.

He lived in Indonesia for 3 or 4 years as a child. Indonesia is a Muslim country which requires an hour of religious class a week. That's not the same as a formal education and anyway is irrelevant because he is now a christian.
If he were still a practicing Muslim he would have every right to run. His religion, legally speaking, is irrelevant.

Of course he has the right to run for office. Since when does religion enter into ones ability to become a candidate. What is the difference between him going to a Muslim school, and JFK going to a Catholic school? Remember the separation of church and state blurb, that our founding fathers thought was so important?
Perhaps, he is just what we need, someone that understands the workings and culture of the Muslim world. I truly don't think he is ready for the job yet. I think that he needs more experience, especially on the international front. Maybe he will be ready in 4 to 8 yrs though.

Please show where in the Constitution it says one must be of a particular religion to run for President. First of all he is NOT a Muslim. Secondly even if he was, what difference does it make? You seem to be simple minded enough to think ALL Muslims are like the terrorists. No more than all Christians are like the radical Christians or like the cruisaders were in the middle ages. Do you seriously believe ALL Christians supported the Spanish inquisition? To think so would be stupid. It is like saying all blonds are dizzy or that all Anglo-Saxon Protestants are bigots. It simply isn't true. When people finally wake up and stop the narrow minded bigotry we will all be better off.

My understanding is that He has converted to Christianity some years ago, however Deception being a cornerstone of Islam it's hard to know.
I would not go as far as to say one should be banned from running for President merely for being Muslim.
I am willing to accept that many Muslims are genuinely peaceful however mislead they are by the cult they follow.
I will however say I would question the judgement of anyone in todays world who would knowingly support a Muslim for President or any other Government Office.
This may require some to label me racist, so be it.

Barrack has never gone to a muslim school. He went to a general education school that had a majority of students that were muslim, but also catered to all other faiths and no faith at all.
It wasn't a religious school.
It would be kind of like accusing a Muslim of turning Christian because he/she went to a public school in the US. Actually that is how silly you are being.

Sure, as long as it is public what he did. I would never vote for him and neither will most Americans. He is too liberal and liberals never win national elections.
