I am assuming you're referring to the US Capitalist system in this question, so I will respond accordingly. The Capitalist system is not necessarily a bad system, as it provides "equal opportunity" for one to succeed, but doesn't necessarily mean that all are born on equal footing. The three house and checks and balances system is effective and offers more security than, say, a dictatorship, theocracy, or communism. However, Canada's socialist system provides more government aid to people, which gives many people a more equal status than Capitalism grants. The answer, simply, is no, our political system is effective for the American way of life, and we are quite better off than many other countries (mid 20th century Russia, the Middle East, even China to some extent)
