It would depend on what the betrayal was, and what it meant to me.
Not backing me up on something important to me, is forgivable, if they had good enough reason. You have to pick your battles
Sleeping with someone else, would be a betrayal beyond repair for me. As no matter how much I may want to forgive, I wouldn't be able to forget, which would continue to interfere with trust and insecurity issues. I could forgive them in time, for my own peace of mind and ability to move forward. But forgiveness does not mean acceptance of the betrayal.
Betrayal is an extremely personal issue though. You have to follow your own heart and mind. Do what will leave you with the least regret and self disdain.

Everybody deserves a second chance. Maybe even a third. Maybe 70 times 7.

Depends on the person, only one or two people would be given a second chance depending on the circumstances.

I think everyone deserves a second chance unless they intentionally killed or hurt someone, like abuse. I suppose it depends on how bad the betrayal was.

It would depend on the circumstances and what they did, to whether or not I would give them a second chance.

Yes, especially if you and the other person have a history together. Life is too short. I mean even good friends fight every now and then.

It depends on what they did. I have given second chances...but some people are just no good for you.

it depends majorly on what they did, and how close i was to them before they did it... sometimes it's better for you (and for me) to just let go and move on to bigger and better things... I believe in having people in your life that uplift you and that will be some sort of positive influence in my life. I in turn try to be that for them, but if there is someone that is causing you nothing but heartache, and makes more trouble and conflict in your life than positive contributions, then it's time to set them free. You and I both deserve more than that!
Good luck.
