Also I am not menstrating nor have I been or am about to be. I have a very irregular period and its common for me to go very ong lengths of time without one. And its odd cause its just the nipple and my breast feel harder than normal. I know I sound like a loon but I am just curious if I am not the only person.

Serious answer.
Whether or not you or your significant other are doing anything to cause or aggravate this, I'd definitely suggest an appointment with your GYN, as this could be a symptom of a serious problem!
If you haven't already, you should go anyway to have that irregularity checked out.
I've had a couple of bouts with this, but not as serious as yours sounds.
P.S. The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked, if you get a good answer or not, no matter how many idiots and pervs answer!

It is common to have sore breasts around the beginning of a girl's period, or menstruation. A week or so before her period starts, the body begins producing lots of the female hormones estrogen and progesterone.
Most PMS symptoms, including breast soreness, should disappear as your period begins. Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen might be helpful. Wearing a supportive bra might also help.
Healthy eating and a lot of rest are really your best bets for lessening the ache. You might try cutting down on salty foods and foods that contain caffeine, like coffee, tea, and even chocolate. Try caffeine-free soda or herbal tea instead.
If you're tired, take a rest! Snuggle on the couch with your pillow and watch a good movie. Sometimes getting your mind off your aches is the best thing you can do.

Oh my goodness...I've have been having the same problem. I thought that I was pregnant because I recently came off the pill, but no I'm not...and I still havent started my period, which made me think that it was definitely on its way...But it's not that either..I don't know what to tell you except that I've been having the same pain and I cringe every time I step in the shower or my husband gets near them...it's almost unbearable...not my whole breast though, just my poor little nipples. OUCH! I feel your pain sister!

Try wearing softer paded bra... or seeing that ur period is off and on it could be a build up of soreness. The next time u have ur period analyse if you are still sore.
