I think Valentines day is taken out of purportion
I think if your man just has the thought to tell you how much he appreciates you and loves you with all his heart
That is worth more then a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates

regardless of sign I think it makes him an a$$%@!e. I asked mine to please not get me anything as a personal gesture of consumerist restraint and discipline (I feel like merchants are just trying to con one out of cash soon after the holidays and I hate feeling like I am being manipulated) Anyway, I said at most you may get me flowers (orchids, my faves). But just as well come over and lets stay in and eat home cooked yummies (I bought us champagne) & fancy baked goods and watch some movies. My dear man suprised me big time. As I struggle to hold back the tears and called him a prick for ruining my apettite (I was crying something silly) I tried on my new white and chocolate diamond ring
I aked hm not to get me anything. If he would not have I would have been more than okay with it, IT WAS NOT IMPORTANT TO ME, he has not gotten me presents in the past. Instead we have taken trips and the like. One year we had a white castle dinner, and I loved it, it was soo much fun. (They do table service and take reservations on v-day!!) Anyway, I guess my point is that if it were important to me, I know my babe would understand that, and would want to get me something, no matter how small, just to see a smile on my face. And if he had not and I would have hurt because it was important to me he would not have laughed at me. He would try to make it up to me somehow. But then again we are not just dating we are a commiteed couple, and that too makes a difference. Better luck to your friend communicating her needs to her lover.

My wife is a taurus and didn't so much as get me a card. I got her roses, a card and caandies. I don't think it has much to do with zodiac signs, some people are just self centered.
