I believe that New Jersey will trade one of their starting PG, SG, or SF. What they really need is a decent proven big man. They have Kristic and behind him next best Cliff Robinson and basically no one else. They should've never lost K Mart! Whoever answered this first and says that Jason Kidd has no D makes him pretty stupid and saying Kobe has no D makes him just a freeking COMPLETE IDIOT. When Kobe is focused in on making a play on offense or defense he can almost always make it happen. The best trade I came up with for this whole scenario completes Memphis' and Chicago's wishes of dumping off Pau Gasol too. That would be...

That would be a good team for the Lakers but with no Kidd on the Nets they wouldn't be doing so good unless they got a good player for Kidd in a trade then it would help the Nets and they still would do good. Kwame, Mihm, Bynum, and Turiaf wouldn't help the Nets at all. If Kidd is traded it would be better to trade him for another good point guard like Stephen Marbury or another player like that. Chris Webber is staying with the Pistions so he won't be with the Lakers any time soon.

Jason Kidd will still be in new Jersey after the NBA trding deadline. It is a waste of time energy for Lakers fans to hope a big midseason trade will bring him to Los Angeles. The Lakers trade history under Phil Jackson has been that the Lakers simply don't make big midseason trades, big trades happen during the offseason. Look at it, every year, there's a big trade rumor going aroudn the the Lakers are going to get some big named player, and every year, that player either goes nowhere or he goes someplace else and all he Lakers talk was just media BS.
The time to start wondering who the Lakers will trade for or sign is in June. Not before.

If that looks like a championship team to you, you have a lot to learn about basketball!
Jason Kidd - totally over rated, can pass the basketball, but possess no ther real skills and plays weak defense
Kobe Bryant - Great player, but would have no titles without Shaq. Now that he leads the team, they have been in constant disarray. Also weak on D,
Lamar Odom - Solid player with decent skills who can provide all of the skills that Kidd and Kobe don't have, but one man can't make up for an entire lineup of deficiencies
Chris Webber - washed up, has been for about 5 years now. He adds nothing to any team at this point in his career.
Andrew Bynum - decent young player who has proven nothing yet. To classify him a championship center is ridiculous!

That would never happen. Kobe makes $30M a year, C-web is overpayed at $20+M a year, and Kidd's contract is about the same. The Lakers would've been better off keeping and paying that money to Shaq Daddy instead. If only they didnt hate each other. Trust me, I'm a big Laker fan too, but the money just wouldnt work. We were lucky enough to get rid of that bum Devean George.. but you can't forget about Odom either. In any case.. we'll see how our playoff run goes.

there is no way the lakers can give crap and get a superstar like kidd, yes kwame and mihm are crap and nets dont want farmar cuz they got marcus williams. if i were the nets i would ask for at least bynum or odom, AT LEAST and draft picks. Kidd may be old but is still a good play maker and still has great court vision and great defense. sure he cant shoot for beans anymore but thats ok. anyhow i really doubt that kidd goes anywhere. i really feel that he will remain a net for the rest of the season.

Kidd will more trhan likely stay in New Jersey. The Nets want Bynum, and the Lakers aren't going to give up one of the hottest young kids in the game for a guy in his mid 30's.
Kidd is playing good ball now, but for anything that the Nets want for him I don't see any team giving up what they are looking for.

in likely order:

Golden State
cwebb is not washed up...last year he was a 20/10 guy, so i see no reason why on the right team, he wouldn't continue that. you are right, that would be a good team. However, i think it's likely that instead of kidd they end up with pippen. think about pippen...he knows the triangle super well, would be great for phil to have around, would be better than smush parker at handling the ball and would make everyone better.
