never put chap stix or lip stix in there
it melts and gets all over the place!
i never put my passport in the wash
it maybe something else
idk

my son leaves bolts screws nails even a walmarts shopping card his id wallet almost everything including protections still in the pack lol

Both are equally foul and ruin anything in the wash.
Gum too.
Hope you are not in Canada. Thanks to our neighbours to the south, it will take you awhile to get a new one, although, perhaps you can phone and find out if they can just mail you a new one. But methinks that is not a possibility.
