It could be squirrels. Or it could be a stray cat or dog. My cats love to chew on our fishing poles and chew through the line so we have to keep the poles in a separate room and have the door shut at all times. also My mom and da have a pit bull pup who is a chewing machine. She has chew through countless logs from the wood pile, the cable line, all of the wires on the riding lawnmower and the push mower, and numerous other things. I would, if you have a garage, make room in it to park. If not I would try the bitter apple stuff and see if it works. If not depending on where you live you might just shoot them. Thats how us in rural NE Oklahoma get rid of them in the country. either that or turn the dogs loose. I think we even have a hunting season for them (though I could be wrong). Hope this helps and good luck.

Mice are the most likely culprit from my experience. In my area a car can't sit for more then a few days without a mouse trying to build a nest and eating wire insulation and all types of other insulation for nests.

If there are no nests perhaps it is a squirrel but never had a problem with them.

Squirrels or mice will do it every time! You need to find out how they are getting in and plug the hole with small scale wire somehow. I had this problem, they were coming in through the heater ducts somehow, what a pain it was but eventually I got all the holes plugged.

It might have been a squirrel. I know them pretty well. They can scratch your windows. It kind of gets annoying. I found out that in this book, it said that there was this squirrel and it used this car engine as a place to store nuts. They can bite pretty hard! Trust me. I've been bitten by one and the doctor said that it was deep. I guess that it would have been squirrels, the innocent but guilty animals.

I had a mouse make its home in my truck. My neighbor had hundreds of dollars worth of damage to her new car by mice. Most of the time it is mice or rats that eat at the wires, although squirrels ate the wires to the our cable. I have heard that if you put out feeders they will leave your cables alone, but I don't know for sure.
Best of luck to you.

i admire my small city...once I say small I advise like 5000 human beings. there is just one extreme and midsection college in the district. ok-5 common faculties are everywhere in the little city. so a great way as the place I shop, if have been conversing outfits I might desire to tension to a city with a mall, simply by fact my city would not have one. i easily like that i will turn down a rode and actually finally end up in a similar place as in the previous, some human beings say its uninteresting, yet i detect issues to do. For this way of little city there are fairly some bars. Like 15. i understand some human beings on the city yet its fake to declare i understand all human beings. yet you no the asserting there are no secrets and methods in a small city, it relatively is staggering. in case you do no longer choose for some thing to get out shop it to your self. This summer time I took a visit to Chiago, and to enable you already know the actuality i replaced into very scared. i'm no longer prepared on vast cities, i assume after being sheltered in a manner for sixteen years, you get used to life in a small place. I had to trip a city bus, which I by no potential had to do in the previous, simply by fact as quickly as back they do no longer exist in my city.

We have squirrels all over Missouri. They got in the attic of my
Uncle's house and chewed the electrical wires. He set traps &
caught a few of them , that's how he knew for sure that squirrels
were the culprits.

It's probably mice. Mice live EVERYWHERE and they find cars very appealing homes. I had one take up residence in several of my old vehicles. Check the trunk (especially in the spare tire holder) and check up under the dash and also in the glovebox. Chances are you'll find a nest. Craftier mice could also make homes in headliners, inside the doors, etc. Even up inside the seats. Good luck.

It could be a number of animals especially some type of rodent. Put a live trap with some food in it under your truck while you're sleeping and you should soon find the culprit.

You can get a bitter apple spray at most pet stores that almost all animals hate. Just spray down the wires on your truck with this everytime it rains and it should fix the problem
