I agree, I just answered this other question about a woman who thinks she's addicted to fast food... $20 on it that she's fat!! I think people over exaggerate about how addictive McDonalds and stuff is... If i pass a Burger King or something, yea its hard to resist, but its still up to me whether or not i should go. And if i do go, then its also up to me what and how much of it I order... I guess its harder for some then it is others, but you still cant blame the resturants they eat at for their obesity. I think that they looked in the mirror and saw that they had 50 extra pounds and got mad and decided "Im fat and i eat at McDonalds alot so it must be their fault!" When really it them who needs to hit the gym.

Since you are asking a question about obesity, and I'm clinically morbidly obese, I'll speak for myself rather than letting people who have probably never been fat do it for me.

You are right . . . to a point. I'm fat. I choose to be fat. I don't exercise, and I enjoy food. People think I'm disgusting for choosing to be this way. I think they are disgusting for being shallow, not minding their own business, and judging me. But that's a discussion for another day.

Here's what you and several of the answerers are assuming: fat people are stupid. And that's just not the case. I know what portion control means. I know how to eat in moderation. I know what's bad for me.

I don't eat at McDonald's. It's nasty. When I do eat fast food, I watch what I eat. When I eat out (which is less frequent than I used to eat out), I try and eat well during the week.

I DO NOT blame anyone for the size of my rear end. I did that all by myself, thanks. The reason I'm fat isn't so much because of what I eat. I'm simply lazy. And I'm enjoying that, thanks.

I said that you are right to a point, and here's why: not every restaurant provides the nutritional content of its meals. While I can guess, I don't know everything I should know. McDonald's is an exception in that they do provide all of their info . . . . which is part of why I don't eat there. That place could kill anyone. But places like Quizno's and Red Robin do not.

Also, many Americans were taught to clean their plates. My boyfriend, who, yes, he is fat, was taught to always, always clean his plate. So, while we both know that portion control is key, he honestly has a hard time letting food go to waste. He feel guilty about it.

The next time you go to ask a question about fat people, ask a fat person. You can check out my profile for my e-mail address. E-mail away.

You can't blame a company for people being fat. I think that it's the people's fault for going to places that have food that is bad for them. Unfortunately they are usually the ones who order the super size everything, and then wonder why they aren't losing weight. But then we do live in a society where there is a mcdonalds everywhere and it is so easy to just run in and get something to eat, and do you really want to get one of their salads. It's a hard call. But no, not macdonld's fault.

some is your own personal choice and some of this is McDonalds's responsibility. as Mcdonald increased portion size on some of thier products to mask the calorie content and increase sales and profits.
McDonalds profits are built on increased consumer demand. The more we consume the more they make profits. So you can assume that Mcdonald will never reduce their portion size in anything if it does not inhance profits. the only thing that I see them ever reducing is the portion size of their apple salads or salads.

It's not portion control, it's called choice.

A person has the choice of going to the grocery store and getting fresh fruits and vegetables.

A person has a choice in cooking at home.

A person has a choice in ordering a big mac or a grilled chicken salad!

While I would LOVE to eat an In n Out right now, I am having Peppered Cauliflower.

i come across the theory a 2 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous being obese as unhappy and surprising, I even have under no circumstances considered an obese toddler under 6 years previous and fortuitously the place I stay in London you hardly see obesity in babies. scientific issues can't account for plenty obesity in the u . s . a .. once you bypass to the disadvantaged areas of the united kingdom like a Manchester housing scheme you come across many over weight young babies, bypass to a prosperous suburb and you spot none. This exhibits that it is the mothers and fathers that is re-knowledgeable! Alot of folk argue that they are unfavorable and processed foodstuff is extra much less costly. in certainty they are usually too lazy to cook dinner from scratch, that's continually the main inexpensive option. it kind of feels unusual that this scientific phenomenon isn't customary. i think of it incredibly is amazingly very uncommon that there is any scientific project linked with obesity, in all threat below a million in each and every 10 young babies, in easy terms a wager. mothers and fathers could end clutching at straws and arise to certainty. I even have 2 babies, one eats sufficient and the different might over eat if she could. She is an exceptionally energetic little woman yet she loves her foodstuff and likes to eat. She runs everywhere or maybe nonetheless she is barely in basic terms 3 she has no longer had a stroller in view that she become 19 months (her selection, no longer mine). It possibly that she needs the foodstuff yet we, as mothers and fathers, comprehend whilst she is being grasping and we tell her to end. She cries that she is hungry so we ask her to attend, confident sufficient as quickly as the foodstuff settles 10 minutes later she isn't hungry anymore. Slowly she has learnt to end whilst she is done and not ask for seconds, if she remains hungry after 10 minutes we provide her fruit. shall we particularly extremely provide her goodies and brownies and she or he's the kind of youngster that could become obese if we weren't careful and coaching her approximately the thank you to eat and whilst to end. i think of it incredibly is way less approximately conserving the mothers and fathers in charge and extra approximately offering the education and tips for them to get help, i think of intervention could ensue as early as conceivable. somebody needs to start up putting the youngsters first. it is going to ward off healthiness issues like diabeties, coronary heart ailment and eating matters, to no longer point out the emotional harm it is going to do.

I totally agree! People need to start taking responsibility for their own behavior instead of trying to blame others for the problems they have caused! It's simple, if you eat more food than your body burns it converts the excess to FAT. Our society is in the bad habit of choosing to be victims rather than taking charge over the direction of their own lives. Time for a change!

I do. I use to work at McD's and there is this family that came in every day and had nuggests, soda, and fries. it is so unhealthy. It is called self-control and making your own food. Even getting Lean Crusines, and Helathy Choices in the freezer section is healthier and cheaper
