I know he put that offense in,but his head coaching days should have been over after Oakland.I would have got either Rex Ryan or Mike Singletary to boost the defense. What do yall think?

Lots of people have given me heck about my opinion, but I think I support it well.

Turner is a great pick for one simple reason: Continuity. SD is a team that has the pieces in place they just needed someone to play them. Turner basically installed that offense they run in SD, so nothing there will change. No worries of LT getting underutilized or anything like that. In fact, he'll probably improve it because the receivers need a much bigger role. Granted Turner is not a great coach, heck he may not have even been the best. He's just the best fit and that's what matters. He's great at building O-lines and installing offenses. He's also great with young QBs and to me that's what SD needs the most.

He brings his own Defensive play caller who runs the 3-4, so even the defense is in good hands. Turner comes with a great package of abilities, while other coaches maybe needed something to be added.

I think Ron Rivera would have been the best choice for the Chargers. After all the Chargers were a great defensive team. A defensive type coach would have been better. Norv Turner is going to be a disaster.

Norv was the safe pick and the only candidate with head coaching experience. The Chargers figure that the talent of the team will overcome the head coaching inefficiencies of Norv. The best thing they can do is surround him with the best coordinators they can find.

Playoff fulfillment does not count lots because of the fact neither of them even reached a super bowl. Norv has this group declining. They went from 14-2 under Marty to 11-5 the subsequent 300 and sixty 5 days, then 8-8 the 300 and sixty 5 days after. they are going to be 5-11 in this p.c.., next 300 and sixty 5 days. and that they of course does no longer make the playoffs. you are able to not continually blame a coach for playoff wins. I assure if Marty hadn't earned them that bye in the 14-2 season they might have won the 1st playoff interest. that is no longer his fault that they had this variety of competent nicely-known season checklist. And Kaeding's ignored container purpose in added time of the 2005 playoffs (2004-2005 season) wasn't Marty's fault.

Seemed to me that Mike Singletary was a better fit.

Turner is the coach with the 2nd worst record to be hired as a head coach. I dont get it... But whatever...

Being a Denver fan I had to laugh at the choice of Turner as the new Charger head coach. San Diego just went from SB contenders to MAYBE playoff hopefuls.

All of you are forgetting that Norv Turner was the Chargers Offensive Coordinator in '01 and instilled the offense they still run now.

The rest of the teams in the AFC West think he is. Norv may be just the guy to find a way to LOSE with the talent the Chargers have.

Not for a team that went 14-2 last season.

Turner last coached the Raiders, and we all know how that went.

They should have kept Schottenheimer. Hiring Turner is a bad bad move.

Horrible move. Turner is a very very bad coach. The talent at San Diego may make him look good for awhile.
