Staying at a all inclusive, you don't need much money. You will be eating your meals at the resort so you will need money or credit card for excursions and going to some clubs. Bring your ATM card and withdraw as needed but to start, a couple hundred dollars is good. You need some tip money for the resort. If you tip those bartenders they will really take care of you. Less money to spend partying on the outside.

Have fun and happy travels

When I go I take $100 per day for spending around the area. This is above the cost of the hotel. I exchange my money before I leave and have it mailed to me. It takes 2-3 days to get the money via UPS. Here is the link to order:

I don't like to exchange money there because the exchange rates are sometimes not very good. Any extra I bring back and use the leftovers on my next trip, although you can send it back and they will refund you.

Using dollars will be ok but just check to ensure you are getting the right change back because that will be in pesos. Some people have a hard to converting quickly in their heads and just accept the change and walk away.

Your all-inclusive will take care of your food and drink but trust me on this; you will want to hit the local hotspots and you will want to eat real food away from your resort. Make sure you take enough or at least have a debit/credit card also. You can get cash from ATMs all over the place.

Have fun!

I usually take $100 to $200 a day for spending money and shopping. And I budget food, hotel, rental car above that. If your staying at an all inclusive you don't have to worry about the food/hotel, but if you want to leave the area, get a massage, go diving, para sailing, etc... that's all around $150 to do each.

It truly depends on whether you want to stay on your resort or explore Cancun. My husband and I visited Cancun and brought about $500 US. We shopped alot and did a few daytrips. (Isla Mujeres trip, submarine trip) Also, take the bus to travel!! Don't worry, it's very safe and full of tourists! It's only 75cents each trip!!! And it runs 24 hours a day, every 10 mins. Don't take a taxi, as they are very expensive! Lots of bars and restaurants and sooo much more to do in Cancun! Have fun! We loved it!

Depends on what you are wanting to do while you are there. There are many nice excursions $50.00 - $150.00 each. If you are going all inclusive you will need no money at the hotel. You should however take exxtra money to purchase things for folks back home. $500.00 for the week should be plenty, then you will take money home with you. Do not change your money for their money. They love our's. Take lot's of small bill's.
