Yeah, so, I keep missing my periods for about 3 months, and then I'll get them... this has been happening for about a year.. so in the last year, I've had like 4 periods in total. What's wrong with me?

Yeah, I'm 17 and a senior in highschool. I think it may be stress. And I've recently started to go to the gym more often.. but, it's been going on for longer than that. So.. I don't know. My mom won't let me go on the pill though, for.. well, she thinks it's like giving me permission to be a slut or something. Whatever.

you can miss periods if you're under a lot of stress. also, I've heard of girls who play sports not getting normal cycles. you should ask your doctor.

hey I cant believe there is someone outt there that has the exact same problem as me..I'm also 17 and in the final year of highschool. I am constantly under stress and I think because of that I am missing my periods, the last time I got mine was back in november. My mom took me to the doctors and she gave me a pill to take for 10 days and after that I will get my period on the 10th day. It worked for me for a month or two, but now its back to the same story, I'm kind of glad I dont get it because I get deadly cramps, but I heard that I could possbily get cancer or something so Im scared.

Ok i know this may seem weird coming from a man, But i had an ex girlfriend with this problem,

1. How old are you
2. Visit your doctor as this is very commen in younger people such as 16-25 and could be easily treated with what is known as " the pill" as this can help regulate things a little with hormones

There are several things that can cause this. If you're losing or gaining weight, or under a large amount of stress you can have irregular periods. Any changes in diet or exercise can have an impact. Also, you may have a low thyroid that may affect you.

Being over weight will also be a cause. I was way over weight and went 6 years without periods. Then I started to loose weight and I started to get them again. You should go and see a GYN and see what they have to say. There are medicines that can help to regulate them. It will help to ease your mind. You can still get pregnant even if your periods are irregular or not at all.

How old are you?

If you are young, your hormones are still working themselves out.
