I am not American but I would ally myself with the Dems.

What does it mean to "win" in Iraq? You already got rid of Saddam and they sure as hell didn't help the situation. Personally I would prefer to see the US leave that country like it did Vietnam, admit it was a wrong move and STOP playing World Police.

Too many Americans believe that their country is the high and mighty, the most powerful and answers to no one. This must change if the World is to be a better place. This kind of foreign policy is from a bygone era (as are the people who led this war - Rumsfeld anyone?).

Wake up America, the rest of the World MUST be involved in such international decisions. Look what your medling in Iraw has caused. And now it's about making a case for Iran. Yes Saddam was bad, but was he worth your Social security system, your healthcare system and so many soldiers lives? (Seeing as how so much money has been spent on this war YET the new budget isn't looking so pretty)

We already won the war. Iraq has been returned to its natural state before British intervention. It will eventually split into three nations. We may not be happy with the results, but nation building is an inexact science.

If you want the total of U.S. soldiers, and British soldiers
killed to continue to go up NO WAY!! I pray we leave now.
You youngsters probably don't remember The Vietnam
Conflict over 58,000+ U.S. soldiers died in vain.
Plus countless other soldiers are fighting for their lives because of Agent Orange ( Napalm ) I am a vet from
Vietnam and still have extremely terrible nightmares.
Saddam is gone,no WMD's have been found. Bring our
young men home. Before anything else happens to them

I hope we do win. The problem is that it can't be won by shooting no matter how much some wish it to be.

Well on May 1,2003 Bush said "Mission Accomplished" in a speech aboard an American warship!

I thought we won!

Why are we still there in February-2007!

Pretty sure I saw your dad with a big Mission Accomplished sign didn't I, dude it's not about winning always sometimes it's rally about what is best for our country, this isn't a game and we've diverted resources that could have helped us wage a smarter Battle against terrorism in this quagmire and not made our soldiers recruiting posters for Jihad and targets for Shia & Sunni extermeists

Vaughn hit the nail on the head. What do you mean by win?

We are caught in the middle of a civil war. We are not fighting terrorists, we are fighting citizens who don't want us there. Big difference.

Now do we want stability, democracy, and freedom for them, yes. But don't you think they have to want it for themselves first?

And I will take your attempt to siphon off answers you don't like, or that don't fit into your narrow, black/white view of the issue, as retardation.

I'm pretty sure that if anyone can actually define what "winning" looks like, ALL Americans hope the USA wins in Iraq. But it would help to know who our enemy is.

umm i think everyone wants the usa to win that isent against the usa.... example terrorists and who were followers of saddam..... imean there there for a good cause to help them build there country up like north korea did..... !

If we win in Iraq that means they were wrong. Since they don't want to be proven wrong, of course they want us to loose.

Same thing for the economy. A bad economy is good for them. They don't like it how the tax cuts helped the economy. They want tax increases that hurt the economy and give them more money to waste (AKA more money to spend since we don't know how to spend our own money.)
