Cyclobezaprine is a central nervous system relaxant. The trade name for cyclobenzaprine is "flexeril". When initially taking this medication, it will make you feel very tired. In time, your body will adjust to this medication & you will not feel as sleepy as you did initially. It is frequently prescribed by doctors if a patient has a lot of musculo-skeletal pain often after neurosurgery or orthopedic surgery. It is also helpful when a patient has fractures to prevent severe muscle spasms. This med should never be mixed with alcohol or any other medications that have similar properties. Do not drive an auto after taking this medication.

I took it one time and had to stop taking it immediately as I became very nervous from it . I was taking it for a severe muscle strain . Below are some side effects and it is also recommeded that you don't drink while taking it.

Possible side effects of cyclobenzaprine?

If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking cyclobenzaprine and seek emergency medical attention:

an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
seizures, hallucinations, or confusion;
blurred vision;
increased heart rate; or
depression.
Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take cyclobenzaprine and talk to your doctor if you experience

drowsiness or dizziness;
dry mouth or a bad taste in your mouth;
insomnia;
difficulty urinating; or
sweating.
If you stop taking this medication suddenly, you may experience some withdrawal effects.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
