Why do people talk without awareness of the facts. The US is currently number one polluter.

Yes i do think it would be better other developed countries realise the urgent need for cutting down on CO2 emissions and are at least doing something ,even if its not enough. America seems to be in denial
without America making drastic cuts in its emissions theres going to be no improvement in global warming
Among the worlds top economies the US stands out as the number one polluter With less than 5%of the worlds population the US is the worlds largest producer of greenhouse gasses and is responsible for almost a quarter of global emissions of carbon dioxide

I've known since college undergrad days about the cycles of glaciation and (warming) interglaciation. This warming cycle began at the end of the last little ice age, say about 1850.

Gore needs to put his $ where his mouth is. Has he flown his private jet to China yet to speak to the main "polluters"?

Ahhhh, poor little marxist has it all wrong, as usual. Both China and India are bigger polluters than the US. Russia probably is also. But the real question should be why is Gore going around talking about something when he has no formal training in the subject and why are people listening to him?

Because he cares, because it's important, because he has the means and the drive to do it. Because in large part, the US still isn't listening, and others are and will. Because he's actually making a difference, despite those who disparage his efforts.

You are quite correct, the US is still the greatest producer of greenhouse gases. China won't catch up for some time yet, if ever.

Yes. He certainly should be focusing on the US, who is not only the biggest contributor, but the least accepting of the science. But he did do a lot of environmental work while VP and he had a strong Presidency campaign with the environment. He might had just got frustrated with the US not listening to him. Like that old saying that goes something like "if you try to teach a pig to sing, it's a waste of time and you annoy the pig."

Because he wants the rest of the world to pressure the US to pollute less. Good luck with that, Al.

AU is the largest per capita. Besides, I've seen him in person, he does it here too. Its not just the US problem, in fact, it will screw europe before it screws us. But, your problem isn't with the message, its with Gore, so whatever.
