i really havnt got anything my grandmother has said that i could use in my life when she was alive. the only language she ever spoke to me was in portuguese in which i couldnt understand at the time. but hey, i was only seven when she died. i do know that years after her death my dad went to see someone who calls himself a witch doctor in that he says he's capable of communicating with spirits, and he said that my grandmother told me that i should watch my weight, and if she were alive today, she'd say something like that to me in portuguese because that's the type of person she was - always looking out for others. i guess, in a way, im kinda taking that advice.. watching what im eating.

Sex is the dot over the "I" in marriage. Helped me to appreciate the value of having a marriage with real substance and not just a physical thing.

But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
“If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

"Live your life the way you WANT to live it, not the way you're SUPPOSED to live it."
Simple, but it really spoke to me.
