They have no life (they tend to live in their work, but not in their everyday lives).

Um I'm not completely sure, but I think it refers to how a lot of their work is imcomprehendble by regular people, or it just means geniuses don't live long :p

I thought I had an answer, but now I'm not sure. Maybe because Great Geniuses are usually known simply for their genius.

Well, it could mean that they die young, or it could mean they are so focused in their pursuits that they don't do a lot else with their time.
