If we have a reservation for 3 at the Congress hotel in Chicago, and we had a 4th person stay under the radar, what would the hotel do if they found out?

Well I work at a hotel, and we don't actually go in every room and make sure people didn't lie. We just assume the person who made the reservation made it wrong and typed the wrong amount of adults if more show up when checking in. Because if it's the reservation person's fault, they can't actually charge you. It's not your fault. So lie and say you said you had 4 people when making the reservation and that is the price you were quoted for 4 people. They can't change that.
You just won't get the towels and all you need.
And I don't know where you're staying, but where I work it's only $5 per extra adult after 2, and you can have 5 maximum in a room anyway. So if they do find out, just offer to pay the $5 or whatever it is there.

They would not do anything. It is not like you have 3 single beds. Of course if you had 6-8 people or more, they may kick you out, but 4 people, and as long as you dont cause a "problem" you will be fine.

A lot of hotels of allow up to four people in a room without any consequeces. Many of them allow four people in a single bed room. So for a reservation of three four people won't be a problem.

i do no longer condone this.. even though it relatively is attainable. 3 friends wait interior the motor vehicle - outdoors.. etc - the two examine in - while they get into the room they call you on their cellular telephone.. and supply you the room quantity - extremely some human beings do this - as long as you're quiet and not loud, hazard is in a huge lodge/lodge you will no longer get caught. maximum situations the front team are busy and could no longer be conscious human beings coming and going.

all they could do would be charge you for an extra person- usually 10-30 bucks but they usually dont care- if you are an adult renting a room then you are allowed to have company.

I think they are so concerned with the people on strike in front of their hotel, that they would not do anything!

charge you an extra person fee, just dont let them find out... not too hard to have others stay with you, as long as its not like 20 extra people.. 1 person is ok

The only thing I would worry about is crossing the picket line to get into that rat infested scab haven.
