It doesn't have a particular smell to it and only happens once a day or more. I feel like there's something wet 'down there' and I see some white discharge when I look.(i'm 13 and I haven't had my period yet, if that means anything)

Discharge is normal in a female. It is the natural cleansing of the body. If it has a foul odor or you begin itching or becoming irritated down there, you may have a yeast infection. Also, if this is your first time getting discharge and you haven't had your period yet, this is your body's way of letting you know that you are about to start.

What's happening is a normal part of puberty. As the hormone levels in your body increase, you will start to notice more and more changes like this. Healthy discharge is clear or white and can be thick or thin, depending on the hormonal level. For example, when a women is ovulating (that means her body is producing an egg in order to get pregnant), the discharge is a lot thinner and there's a lot more of it, kind of like egg whites. That's how women can tell when they're fertile and likely to conceive a baby.

It's important to remember that the vagina is a self-cleaning organ and discharge is simply its way of keeping clean. Don't ever douche because that messes up the good bacteria in your vagina and can actually cause problems or give you an infection.

Don't worry about the discharge unless it starts to turn a different color, like yellow or green, and have a smelly odor. Also, if you begin to itch or have irritation down there. That means you could have an infection and need to see a doctor.

Also, an increase in discharge doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to start your period right away. All it means is that your body is changing and your hormone levels are increasing. If discharge makes you feel uncomfortable, you can buy panty liners from the store to absorb the excess moisture. They are not expensive and they will help you feel drier.

As long as the discharge doesn't smell or irritates your skin, you shouldn't worry about it !! If you haven't had your periods yet, this means you will soon. The discharge means there are hormonal changes going on with your body because it's getting ready for your periods!

I hope this makes sense !
