Im about to buy a PS3 and I just want to know what I coudl do other than playing games (duh), and watching Blu-ray. IF I could do more than that, please tell me if I need something else for that to work (for example, Cables for DVD or something)

PS3, it can do everything the Wii can do and more. It even has motion sensors, like the Wii (it is the main controls for the game Warhawk) Theres also Blu-ray disc drive, which normally costs $1,000, thats whyy it costs so much. With memory stick slots on the PS3 makes it easier to transfer videos music & photos onto its 20GB or 60GB hard drive. It also can play PS2 and PS One games, and dvds. The wii cant even play dvds! It has you can also go on the internet and it even has its own instant messeging program, and the wii doesn't. If you have a PSP your able to hook that up to the PS3 and tranfer files from your PSP to the PS3. You will also be able to use it in more many different things in games (like as the controller and rear view mirror in Formula 1). Plus theres games like Resistance Fall of Man, Madden, and Warhawk (which uses the motion sensors). If there are and glitches or problems i'm sure you will be able to fix them with the system updates, just like the PSP has. It may cost more but that's only cuz you are gettin more and at a better quality.

The PS3 is great trust me when i tell you won't be unhappy when you get it.....and to the guy above me lick my harry nut sack the Wii is desigened for 12 year old kids the games that they offer are nothing but cartoons yes the controller is different but thats it the games are the same as gamecube and yes you will lose weight but so will getting out of the house and the guy above me is just jelous that he can't afford one and i wish i could meet him in person than i would love to hear what he had to say about people who own ps3's

Don't buy a PS3. Also, don't believe the adult nerds like the one above me who say that the Wii and PS3 are even comparable. People like that still live at home with their mommies and wear giant glasses and can say nothing but "kewl!!!Doh!" THAT's the kind of person PS3 people are. They are fat, oversized, dorkish noobs who think that because a controller shakes that it is pro-active. Please. People have actually lost up to 10 lbs playing the wii. Wii is everything PS3 isn't, and PS3 is everything that it shouldn't have been (eg, overpriced). Dorks play PS3, dorks like Paris Hilton and Dubya. 360 and Wii have my vote for the next gen, and PS3 has my vote to sink like the loser it is. BTW, would you pay $800 just to play FFXIII??? If you would, be my guest. But when you come over to the Wii60 camp crying your eyes out that you can't afford it, we will laugh.

well if u want to play in HD u would have to buy the cables wich would suck cuz u should get that when u buy the thing, u waste 600$ on the thing and cant even play on hd untill u get the HDMI cables, now dosnt that suck. u should go for a 360 u can do much more, and its cheaper

I hope you have fun, I really want one. But I live in Europe and they come out in some time.

u can browse the internet, store pics, music and videos. u can go to playstation network and play some demos for "free" (X360 charges u $50 for a year)

i dont know much bout PS3 (i have a Wii) but its basically a psp with better graphics that hooks up to ur tv
