If I do have a boyfriend then it's not gonna be all serious. I mean If we go anywhere it'll just probably to the movies. I've had "boyfriends" in the past and there was no problem. How come it is now? Is it because I'm more mature and older? Please help!

I don't know how "mature" you can get around the age of 13. Maybe it's the guy you're seeing.

13 is way too young to have a boyfriend. I agree with your Mom. I couldn't even start dating til I was 16, and that was a long time ago. By that time, you would have hopefully more knowledge about life in general. Enjoy the age of 13, as you are only 13 once in your lifetime. Too much stuff happens to teenagers nowdays, and and unwanted pregnacy should not be one of the them. Boys will say anything to get a girl in the sack, and you are too young for that right now.

Sorry, she's right. At 13, hormones are kicking in and you may want to do more than go out to the movies, which you might not have been interested in as a younger kid. When you're a mom, you'll understand.

You have a whole life ahead of you and you'll have lots of boyfriends I promise, but don't start now, it's not the right time for you to be having boyfriends. Enjoy all the stages of life, don't jump them.

If you're just going to mainly be going to movies, holding hands, maybe kissing sometimes, that sounds fine by me.
Although you are older now, and boys are different at this age too.

I agree with your Mom and it's because of puberty, that's why...hormones are kicking in (in kids your age in general) and your Mom is looking out for your best interests. Truly.
