Lots of people have given me heck about my opinion, but I think I support it well.

Turner is a great pick for one simple reason: Continuity. SD is a team that has the pieces in place they just needed someone to play them. Turner basically installed that offense they run in SD, so nothing there will change. No worries of LT getting underutilized or anything like that. In fact, he'll probably improve it because the receivers need a much bigger role. Granted Turner is not a great coach, heck he may not have even been the best. He's just the best fit and that's what matters. He's great at building O-lines and installing offenses. He's also great with young QBs and to me that's what SD needs the most.

He brings his own Defensive play caller who runs the 3-4, so even the defense is in good hands. Turner comes with a great package of abilities, while other coaches maybe needed something to be added.

Horrible move. Turner is a very very bad coach. The talent at San Diego may make him look good for awhile.

I think it is a bad move, although I see that what they are trying to do. They brought in the most experienced head coach of the bunch that they interviewed. Also, they had ties to him in the past, they are running an offense that he designed. But Norv has not been a very good head coach.

he is over rated. If he is such a good offensive coordinator, then why are his offenses so bad?

1994 Redskins - 13th
1995 Redskins - 18th
1996 Redskins - 8th
1997 Redskins - 15th
1998 Redskins - 17th
1999 Redskins - 2nd
2000 Redskins - 24th
2001 Chargers - 15th
2002 Dolphins - 15th
2003 Dolphins - 24th
2004 Raiders - 18th
2005 Raiders - 23rd
2006 49ers - 26th

So this offensive genius has only been able to produce a top 10 offense TWICE in 13 years since he left Dallas!

well any coach inheriting a 14-2 team with LT, Gates, merrimen etc... can do well. i still think marty should be coach. i think the reason why they hired turner was because he would get along with the front office and is a yes man.

BAD MOVE!!! He is great as a coordinator but horrible as the head man! It is a step backwards from Marty even!
