My little girl is almost a month old. She gets formula and breast milk, and for the last few days shes been throwing up after I feed her (when I burp her she spews), mostly at night. She has done it with formula and breast milk so I know its not a formula problem. Anyone have any idea why she is doing this and what may help?

Drink her slowly, Half an ounce or one ounce and than sit her in your lap and burp her. It's probably acid reflux or too much food.
You can ask your doctor about it.

All 3 of mine have been milk/soy intolerant and the last 2 had acid reflux as well. Both of these can cause what you're describing. I've bf all 3 and just had to modify my diet and have meds for the reflux. Check out http://www.infantrefluxdisease.com My youngest is only 3.5 mos so we still deal w/ this.

Is it so bad that she throw -up and lands across the room? If it is very forful, it could be pyloric stenosis. This condition causing the muscle between the stomach and intestines to close before or even a few months after they are born causing her to throw up violently. Or she could be eating to much at once. My son did the same thing for 3 months and know one knew why. He enjoyed that sucking and didnt stop when he was full so all his food came back up. So I gave him 2oz less at a time and gave him a paci to calm him.

Try burping her more often. If this doesn't work call your dr. Keep a journal of the times you feed her and how much. So keep treck of her diapers, wet and messing ones. When discussing this issue with your doctor s/he will have alot of information on how to resolve it. If s/he suggests on changing the formul, ask if s/he has any sample you can have. Because if you have to change from one to another, that can get costly.

She may have reflux or colic, I would take her to the doctor. My daughter vomitted a lot too and the doctor said she had reflux. I used a karicare thickener in my babies bottle that made the milk thicker so it stayed in her tummy easier. There are also drugs that they can prescribe but i suggest trying the thickener it worked for us. hope this helps good luck.

nicely first i'd examine the nipple to make advantageous the hollow isn't too massive. Then i'd in all probability utilising a diverse sort of bottle and nipple all jointly. attempt some thing like platex bottles that are designed to be maximum like breast feeding, with the little drop in bags to shrink the quantity of air infant gets. If that does no longer paintings i'd call the checklist. My youngsters all did that and it became out all of them had acid reflux ailment. yet do attempt the nipple examine and bottle variations first.

Try burping her more frequently - she might be swallowing a lot of air, and anything that's on the bubble will come up.

If it's kind of projectile spit up, she might have reflux, which is common and easily treatable. They've often given a prescription and they quite often outgrow it by the time they're a year old.

my daughter threw up a lot and te dr. said he wanted to try a different formula so maybe your baby needs to be on a soy based formula or a lactos formula. after they changed her formula she was still throwing up so they found out that she had acid reflux. check with the dr. and ask them about axid(acid reflux med. for infants) hope she starts feelin' better.

My second daughter was like that - if it went down it came right back up. We saw a specialist, she had reflux - they put her on this liquid medicine called reglan - it didn't help a whole lot - the reflux stopped when she was about 1 - talk to her doctor.
