this button makes a noise in the dashboard when I press it, but I can't find what it is to.

If your car is an LX or LXi model, that button lowers or raises the antenna.

Seriously, you should have an owners manual for your car. If you don't, check Honda's web site or ebay to get one, because you will discover lots of interesting stuff by reading it... Good luck!

In the center console you can see the ignition switchs and push button starter

Is the car an automatic?
If so it could be the release for when the shift gets jammed.

If it's on the shifter console it should be your overdrive switch.
