It's a no-name holiday for no-work positions, and the term holiday is really applied too loosely in this country. People who make an honest dollar working for a living don't take this day off, they've got pride, but it has more to do with the fact that laborers that hold this country together are disregarded and generally not given the option to take a day off for a half-assed holiday that was literally implemented as one day a year thing that eliminated the need to individually acknowledge each of our presidents birthdays. It's a lazy holiday borne directly of people who didn't want to put forth the effort to it took to observe the people that held such significance in our country, but still want to seem patriotic without having to do anything about it on the actual days. People like judges, and court officials, office workers, cubicle cut-ups, and the likes of them get off, and it makes no difference, b/c they make no difference and they don't do any work for a check. That's all.

Presidents Day replaced Washington & Lincoln's Birthday, so it is a made up holiday. I am one of the few people who respects my President everyday so I find little need for this holiday. Hey I do not celebrate Valentines day either - happily married for 33 yrs I do not need a holiday to feel loved or say I love him.
Respect everyday is a better way to celebrate past & current presidents. Show our respect & gratitude for the sacrifice a person makes to be president. They age 10 years for every 4 they serve.

Fewer and fewer Americans can now celebrate the day. Employers are not giving the day off because they want to maximize profits.
$21 billion in Wallstreet bonuses were handed out to a several thousand people in 2005 says the state of New York.

I kick back and relax like most people on a weekend holiday.
Presidents day comes about to combine the honoring of Presidents Washington and Lincoln both of whom were born in February. They are two of our greatest Presidents and deserve the honor.
