their are many high schools that offer this advantage at night as the community colleges do.

for free services---Your local Dept. of Human Services can also help you with locating schools as they are trying to help people furthur their education..You might also want to try your local Worksource.

Call the local high school guidance counselor and ask him/her. Or better yet, if there is a community college or community education program, they will help you get your GED. They offer classes, and these are often during the evening so people who work can take them. However you might not even need the classes. They will first have you take a practice GED exam to see what you need to work on and you can go for there. Good Luck and please go for it and do this now. The longer you put it off the harder it is to do, I have a friend who is 26 and still hasn't gotten hers, every year she says it's time, but she never quite gets it done.

I live in North Carolina and it only cost me 7.50 to get my GED. Just call your local community college. Normally you will go and take the placement tests. To determain weather or not you need to brush up with some classes. If you score igh enough on the pretests you wont even be recommended to take classes you will just be given the option to take the test.Since you havent been out of school to long you should do great. I would like to commend you for finishing up and going on to college. I am a mother of two myself and I know how hard it is!! Congratulations on your little ones and dont worry you will be in college in no time!!!

Couple of ways, if you are near a community college you can take your ged there. You are now able to get it on line. Google "taking GED" and it will take you to the right place. No computer use the libraries they will arrange time and materials

Contact your community college for testing information, they will tell you everything you need to know. It is not free. My wife got her GED last month. She paid $60. You can sign up for prep classes or just take the test.
