Once again this is for research reasons, not to cause a ruckus.
I have my own reasons, but I wanna know from different viewpoints.

Dictionary- a person who attempts to impress others by assuming or affecting a manner, degree of elegance, sentiment, etc., other than his or her true one.
Urban Dictionary - a person who pretends to be what he or she is not : an affected or insincere person
My Definition - A person who pretends to be someone else, usually someone famous in regards to phrases they say and/or style of dress in an attempt to look "cool" and impress their peers. Often times though these people are quickly discovered to be "Poseurs" as they are not true to themselves, and are outcasted quickly and/or talked about negatively to their face and/or behind their backs.
Moral of the story - Be yourself :), even if you're retarded like me.

Many things mainly someone who isnt true to themselves works to hard to be what they think is cool like punk or gangster. Sudden and extreme change of charcter and music taste. Often people try 2 hard 2 be original I wonder how can u be original if u feel pressure 2 be like everyone else?

If a person when she is at home is depressed and un-motivated, but if in public, people comment how welcome it is to see her sunny smile, then she would be a poseur.

every one changes once. someone who is the real deal changes gradually. a poser just looks up at someone and says, hey! if i'm like that i can blah blah blah. they change like POOF!

in my opinion, i poser is someone who calls themself something, but is really not. like someone is a poser if they say their punk but cares about what society thinks about them. get it?
