Of course not. If a kid is going to do something crazy, they'll do it. Video game or no video game. Do you think kids were perfect before computer games or movies, of course not!

depends what age the child is, if the child is between the ages 3 to 5 witch is usually considered the age of learning and imitation. THey will be more prone to copying what they see on t.v no matter what it is. Im sure that just by sending your child to school there prone to picking up violent acts by other kids so video game violence is minor. I wouldnt bann it from your child if the child is 5 and up because usually the video games that are made for 5 and up are set at a certain maturity level that a 5 year old child will be able to handle and not harm those because it usually has a limit to what they put in it. I suggest buying your child a video game that is the right required age for your child. Usually those games are set according to maturity level at that age etc..

I personally do not believe that video games promote violence in children. I have been playing video games since i was about 5 and i have never thought about going on a Grand Theft auto style shooting rampage. Never wanted to go to school armed with a gun. And i love my shooters too. the man issue with video game violence and children is the up bringing they had. With todays society of 2 working parents who dont police the influences their children have from the world.
I am part of a voters group. The Video Gamer Voters Network. We are trying to show the government that the violence from school shootings is not brought upon by video games, even though its the plea of the kids, and their parents. WE are trying to get them to realize, spending billions on trying to outlaw a form of entertainment or ban them outright is illegal under first ammendment law. How does the freedom of speech apply to all forms of entertainment and media except video games at this point? it is something we are trying to remedy, but with so few people in my age group voting, it makes it very difficult to do.

No, it doesn't. Most kids can tell the difference between real life and Halo. Despite what the media and politicians would like you to believe, games =/= violence in real life. They are no more so than music, books, and movies. If a person is mentally damaged somehow, and does something, that's a different story but happens with a lot of those situations where video games are the "culprit".

Depends on how the children are raised. Some children try to imitate the games.
