The Spanos family has owned the team since the 80's. They did fire Bobby Ross two years later when his teams fell to the cellar again!

i believe he did own the chargers. b/c i remember him saying after beating pitsburgh in the afc championship game that 'this is a big day for san diego and for stockton, california.' (where spanos resides and owns land)

too bad steve young and the 9ers spanked them that SB.
