What do you expect. We have morons running the Chargers. I think we should as fans be able to fire the Spanos family and their lackey AJ Smith!!! I think if it was up to the fans we would have the best Super Bowl team ever!! But the sad reality is the Spanos family owns the team and will continue to make stupid decisions forever. :{ My poor Chargers.

I completely agree. As a non secular Oakland Raiders fan, i know for a actuality that Norv Turner is a undesirable coach. the ingredient is, nevertheless, San Diego is incredibly gifted, and their branch sucks worse then the different branch. in the event that they have been in the AFC South, or the NFC East, there is not any way they also have a triumphing checklist much less a playoff berth. They have been so fortunate to attraction to the vulnerable Tennessee Titans in the 1st around. I say Indianapolis places hem of their spot this week. i don't have something against the Chargers, yet hiring Norv Turner became right into a terrible call, and that i sort of prefer the Chargers to pay for it.

I think hiring Norv Turner is a BIG mistake. He has always been a pretty good assistant coach, but he never seems to be able to handle the head coaching responsibilities.

This isn't unusual, I think there have been a lot of coaches who have been outstanding assistants but could not take the pressure of being a head coach.

I know Marty didn't do so well in playoff games, but he took a team that no one thought could win a couple of years ago and guided them to the best regular season mark in the league this past year.

I also think if San Diego was going to fire him, they could of had the decency to do it while there were still a few coaching vacancies available.

Lots of people have given me heck about my opinion, but I think I support it well.

Turner is a great pick for one simple reason: Continuity. SD is a team that has the pieces in place they just needed someone to play them. Turner basically installed that offense they run in SD, so nothing there will change. No worries of LT getting underutilized or anything like that. In fact, he'll probably improve it because the receivers need a much bigger role. Granted Turner is not a great coach, heck he may not have even been the best. He's just the best fit and that's what matters. He's great at building O-lines and installing offenses. He's also great with young QBs and to me that's what SD needs the most.

He brings his own Defensive play caller who runs the 3-4, so even the defense is in good hands. Turner comes with a great package of abilities, while other coaches maybe needed something to be added.

It was the dumbest hire of the silly season in the NFL. Why hire someone who could not win with talent in Washington and drove the talent out of Oakland?

Poor LT will now fall into Jamal Anderson status until they fire Turner!

Certain people are great Coordinators but do nto translate in good Head Coaches. Norv Turner and Wade Phillips fit that description. They do not have the people management skills; they are more of straight X's and O's coaches which is what you want in a Coordinator but not in a head man!

The Chargers went the safe rout. They are banking that the team is talented enough to overcome the inefficiencies of Norv Turner as a head coach.

I agree this was a big mistake. Heck if they still had the Coordinators in place it may have even been a little better. With no one there but him and the staff he brings in it is almost begging for a mess. I guess they figure they have too much talent and that anyone can coach the team. Although we saw what happened when Jerry Jones fired Jimmy Johnson years back.

Not very smart. Turner is a good assistant/oc, but not a leader. Ask the Raiders of 2 years ago. Should've dished out the Caaash to Cowher.

Yep, not too smart on the Chargers side. We all have seen what happens to Norv Turners teams.
