I am of Jewish descent, however I am not jewish because my mother was not a Jew. This is how the jewish religion is passed on, by the matriarcal blood line and although people can convert to judaism it is not a religion which goes out to convert. There are many different level;s of practising Jews, from the very devout to the very liberal.I think this is the main reason why you may be experiencing what you see as a reluctance to share information. Because faith is a very personal thing and everyone worships differently and maybe you come across as slightly anti semetic.

The Jewish faith is not really secret. When I was at school we got shown around a Synagogue by a Rabbi. It was a fun day and I learnt a lot.
Many Jews don't talk about their faith because unlike Christianity or Islam the Judaism does not seek converts. That is to say they pass their faith through the generations rather than try to get others to join their faith.
Most of the Jewish beliefs are in the Old Testament of the Bible. If you read the Bible you can find out all of the main Jewish traditions and beliefs (such as Passover for example).

Huh???? I think you might be oversimplifying things a bit. However, Jews have been pushed around Europe since the Diaspora and blamed for everything from the Black Plague to the 1918 Influenza Epidemic (Please don't be a moron and say you agree. Don't be a sheep and just open a history book written by ANYONE who actually knows what they are talking about.) So, Jews did tend to keep their mouths shut because thy learned the hard way that this might help keep them out of trouble as Europe's scapegoat. But this is a bit archaic nowadays. Oh, and is your username an anti-semitic slur? Cuz it certainly appears that way. Very, very attractive. You must be quite impressed with yourself.

Dunno. I work for a Jewish firm and have noticed the same thing. Might be down to all the persecution they have suffered at the hands of various people over the years (Muslims since 12th century, the Tsars, Nazis and Stalin etc) that is has become ingrained in the culture. Unlike Christianity, Judaism isn't just a faith, it's a whole way of living.

Ive found Jewish people to be non confrontational, they are lovely,so what gives you or anyone else the right to question them about anything.

They have been persecuted for years, leave them alone.
