Any laser procedure can cause scarring, and this is included as a risk on most consent forms you will sign prior to laser treatment. However, the risk of scarring from laser hair removal is rather small and is a function of many things including:
1)The experience, skill, knowledge and training of the laser operator
2)Your particular ability to heal
3)The amount of melanin pigment in your skin with greater risk for darker skin types
4)Type of laser used
Many people experience pigmentary changes, either lightening of the skin or darkening of skin, following a laser procedure. Most of time this is not scarring, even though people often believe that it is. Pigmentary changes following laser procedures are usually resolve in a period of weeks to months.
Although the risk of scarring from a laser procedure is quite small, you can minimize your risk by selecting an experienced operator to perform your laser treatment who is supervised by an on-site physician.

Scarring is a very minor risk as long as you are not tan. Make sure you go to someone with alot of experience who is using the latest equipment. 1-2 treatments will substantially reduce the hair but will not entirely remove it. At any given treatment, you can only treat 50-60% of the hair follicles in the treatment area because not all of the follicles are in the active growth mode that is required for treatment. Also, because you have sensitive skin, they may want to treat you conservatively which would mean that the results will be less dramatic. I have had just 2 Tx done before and the results were quite noticeable. Check out the attached sites...one has provider options listed and the 2nd one has customer survey ratings for various locations.

On the Tyra Show there was a woman who got shoddy laser hair removal that scarred her face real bad. She went to someone that wasn't really licensed. The lesson was... Make sure they have a license and if it starts feeling like something is wrong, question them, and don't let them pressure you into it.

I went and had my armpits done. The woman was a professional and it didn't cost much. I had very great results from my treatments... but make sure to really research your options to be sure you don't get bad results. Good Luck.

No. They wont leave a scar, unless you are going to scratch it. Much more, keloid. So avoid getting in the sun and avoid sweating, for this might irritate the skin.
