Jason "Izzy" Isringhausen pitched for the Oakland Athletics before joining the St. Louis Cardinals as a free agent after the 2001 season.

The A's acquired Izzy, along with pitcher Greg McMichael from the Mets in return for Oakland closer Billy Taylor. Taylor was a bust for the Mets but Izzie went on to become a successful closer for the A's (he was formerly a starter in the Mets farm system), clinching the AL West division title in 2000 by saving the last game of the season against the Texas Rangers.

Following the 2001 season, Izzy joined the Cardinals as a free agent.
