what is the heighest and lowest datetime that sql server 2k will allow?

I think it was 1975 12:00:00:00 for the lowest.. but I don't really remember, any one know what the heighest and lowest is?

SQL 2000 datetime supports dates from 1/1/1753 to 12/31/9999

The 1975 date you are coming up with is how ticks are calculated - it's actually 1970, the epoch. Dates and times are calculated by the number of milliseconds before or after the epoch.

Datetime varies from from January 1, 1753 through December 31, 9999,
but smalldatetime varies from January 1, 1900 through June 6, 2079.
