The workers compensation insurer is paying for your medical treatment and wage benefits. They have a right to a say in your treatment and to obtain up-dated reports on your medical progress, continued disability, current prognosis, etc. If you do not co-operate with them to the extent you can, they have the right to terminate your benefits.

No one likes to sit around in waiting rooms for hours but, if you are not currently working (and being paid for your lost wages, as well) the compensation company might have a hard time seeing why this was a real hardship on you.

I had a Workers' Compensation case; I worked in an assisted living facility, and a resident bit me! Obviously, it wasn't too serious and I did not actually miss any work because of it, but I had a similar problem to yours in that I was kept waiting for what I considered overly long time periods when I went for my appointments; however, I stayed and complied with the regulations as required by Workers' Comp. If you do not do so, I am fairly certain that you will forfeit your benefits, including lost pay, medical treatment, and any prescriptions you may have received. It is necessary for you to be released officially by the physician at the medical clinic which treated you. Hopefully, you may be able to reschedule your follow-up appointment; if you did not cause a scene when you left, you might say that you had another important appointment which you could not miss... Good luck!

If workers comp is paying you, they consider you following through with your medical appointments to be like your job. If you don't do your job, you get fired = they close your claim, stop your benefits and healthcare.

It sucks, but toe the line, because you don't want the consequences of not doing so.

that is not good.i had a workers comp case before.was the follow up with their doctor or yours? either way call your lawyer and say you had to leave because you were sick and reschedule or you will not see any money for being non compliant.
