There is always that possibility.
So, why not produce it yourself?
It works for me!
I would be interested in reading the script.
A Hollywood truism is that Hollywood does not want to do
your film and if they do do it, it wont be your way. They will
mess it up.

Of course. That would be true for anyone and it has happened to plenty of directors - some you've even heard of.
If you've got a quality project, then you need to dig in and be persistant. But don't re-invent the wheel. Look into how others have had their work produced and try some of the tactics that worked for them. Also, look into

Yeah. If it sucks, pretty much you don't have any chance of having it produced. sorry.
