when u uDOWNLOAd something, u recieve a file from a server.
eg. downloading y! messenger
uploading means putting ur file on a server
eg. putting up ur pic on Y! msgr
different sites have various options for uploading. even writing this question is uploading

When a file comes to your computer from a website, email server or other source, it is called downloading. The opposite is called uploading. You generally upload through a user interface. For example, when you add an attachment to an email message, the files in attachment are uploaded to the mail server.

Downloading = putting something on your computer from somewhere else. IE disk, Internet, etc.
Uploading = taking something from your computer and storing it elsewhere through the same various means.
Your question on how to upload is entirely too broad. Are you talking upload to an e-mail, upload to a web server, upload to a file transfer site, etc..? Each has different instructions.

Downloading means can you take any information from Internet and save on the any computer which connected through the Internet.
And Uploading Means you can save information on the web server,that can access by any person over the internet

Depends on what you're uploading. if it's simply picks u can go to sites like photobucket and upload ur photos. photbucket then give u a link to where people can download it. If it's anything bigger i suggest sites like gigashare.com or megaupload.com. It's basically the same steps as photbucket. you give them the stuff to upload they give you a link where people can download it.

downloading is taking a file(photo,setupfile,etc..) from an internet space to your pc, eg.you download games
and uploading is sending a file to an internet space eg. try yahoo photos there you can upload your personal photos
