I'm writing a novel, and it's set in Greco-Roman times. I need to find out what herbs would be used to treat wounds, infection, and so on. I don't know all the names of medical herbs, or I'd just look it up. Does anyone know of a list, database, or whathaveyou that would be suitable for this task?

This is one for the encyclopedia on net (e.g. Wik) or the herbal books in you library. Read first all the stuff about herbs used today and you almost always get a history of their use in historical times.

You will be surprised how many have been used for a very long time and well equipped were Greek and Roman doctors on military campaigns.

They used tea tree as an antifungual. Aloe was commonly grown and used to treat wounds. It sounds gross, but maggots were used throughout history to treat bacteria(they eat it).And people used leeches to help blood clot.Garlic and clove was used to treat heart conditions and thin the blood.Try looking up "The history of ancient herbs"
