Dems seem to always bash Walmart.

But, Pennsylvania's Governor Rendell (former mayor of Philadelphia) was on hand today as Walmart announced that it would build a store in a high-unemployment part of Pittsbugh.

What is up with Dems? One minute they bash Walmart The next minute, they treat Walmart like a hero.

Democrats and liberals will do and say whatever is popular at the time to gain public support. Whether it's the war in Iraq, the war on terror, illegal immigration, or in this case.....building a WalMart in a part of Pittsburgh where the high number of unemployed people can't wait to fill out a job application.

Look at this as progress. Rendell has grown and finally understands some basic economics. Bashing Wal-Mart or any other profitable company may be fashionable in certain leftist circles but it is bad policy when applied to the real world

Like most things the Blues have a percentage of insane folks.

My guess it's about the same as the Reds. The shame is the majority of America has nothing to do with either party.

Go big Red Go

Thay are building a store in a high-unemployment area. Why would he have a problem with that? Here's a thought: People have free will. Just because two people are Democrats does not mean they agree with each other on all issues. Republicans who disapprove of Bush's plan are another good example.

Amazing when it comes to money and bringing jobs into a community even if it is wally world what people will say.

I dislike WalMart immensely but as mayor of a city or town that needed jobs I would probably snuff it up and welcome them too.

Politics makes strange bedfellows.

Not all Democrats bash WalMart, and most of those who do don't bash the store (which would be blanket thinking) but bash their history in wages and benefits (which is more specific).

They do employ a great many people, which is probably better than no job at all. In the meantime, hopefully we can keep WalMart *and* somehow convince them to be more fair with their benefits.

Under most all circumstances, the Dems will do what the labor unions want them to do. Very sad when you think about it.

Anyone who supports Wal Mart does so out of economic necessity. Wal Mart represents the worst of what corporate America can become, doing most of their business with China, driving down their competitors with Chinese wages and goods, not paying their help a decent wage, etc. Any democrat who supports them is pandering.
