I go in January and March every year. I'll be there in a couple weeks - March 5-9. The weather is just right and the crowds are not as bad as a july 4th weekend.

Not a spring break crowd due to age restrictions on activities but some big conventions. Should not be a major issue.

Most spring breakers are not old enough to be in Vegas, so you won't find the crowd you find in Florida, but you will find a crowd. Vegas is the busiest city for tourists in the US, if not the world.

Your biggest problem will be march madness week. I tried to book a trip last year and nerly every hotel was sold out.. Also check out this site for a list of conventions and the approximate number of attendees for your week.
