Just about anything by Dwight Yoakam. He dares to push country music back to it's roots.

Although I am a fan of Willie Nelson, I really don't consider him "country" any longer.

Even Johnny Cash may have found his niche in the country market but does not really fit there.

Rap is Crap through the West Texas Rednecks. That grow to be only a gig the WCW did again in the ninety's so that they fairly were no longer a band that placed out any albums. So i don't understand if that would count number or no longer. It grow to be a u . s . music.

My favourite country singer was Marty Robbins, now sadly deceased and he had some great c&w ballads like 'Masters Call', 'Big Iron', 'Ballad of San Angelo', 'El Paso' etc etc etc. Mearl Haggard has some great songs too though like 'Sing Me Back Home', 'Mama Tried', 'Branded Man' etc.
