You can start out... "Who is 'your name'?

Interview your parents/grandparents.
Starting with "me and I" is boring.
You may be less self conscious and embarassed if you use a different tact.

Try writing in the 3rd person. For example.....

"She came into the world in the winter of 1990, you know, when mom's were just beginning to tone down that ''80's big hair". She walked early at just 7 mos old. Maybe thats why everything jsut comes natural to her. She learned a love of cooking from watching her grandma fixing big family meals. Music was always on in her home so she learned to sing at a really young age. Singing makes her feel alive."

Write like your narrating a story. Like the move A Christmas Story.....like your telling your life story.

Think of the things that have happened that have made you who you are. Events that have caused you to believe or act in certain ways. Writing in the 3rd person is a good way to remove your self from yourself while writing about yourself. And you can be relatively certain that your paper will gain points just for being different from everyone elses.

If you cant identify your values, beliefs, attitudes etc......it could be a clear indication that you need less time spent on TV, myspace and friends and more time learning who you are.

Good Luck!

Take a blank sheet of paper in the middle write your name then add links for different aspects of the answer as they poccur to you, map out your answer, link up similar ideas and go for rough, quick thoughts, words, ideas, rather than whole sentances. Its a mind map or spidergram !!! it helps to thro ideas down, then next you have to sort them out, but if your stuck on how to start this is an excellent way to get yourself focused

1. Draw a blank box at the top of your paper.
2. Write your purpose in the box. For example: I am writing about me because I want you to know that I am . . . (fill it in).

That should get you started. If you get stuck again, just look at what you wrote in the box.

Start with the word, "I...."

Oh yea, be sure to include one of your weakness is that you can't start a paper without asking how on YA.
