Hi, if someone wanted to become a real estate agent and they have some college experience but no college degree, is it possible and if so what are the required steps to make it happen? Also they do not have any experience in real estate at all. How long will it take for everything? Thank you for your help!

In most states you have to be licensed. Although there are educational requirements I do not believe you need to have a degree. Call up a firm in your area and see what the requirements are.

Also there is an agency in all states that regulates professional licenses - search it online and it will tell you how to get your license. Usually you just take a Real Estate Class and then take a test. It is not hard.

Good luck

You do not need to be a college graduate to take the Real Estate Sales Agent Licenscing course. Contact an agency in your area and ask where licensing classes are being held, or contact the Board of Realtors. You will need to take the class, and then take the licensing exam. Once you are licensed you can sell through a broker. I found a licensing class through my local High School Adult Education Program, and you might also find something at your nearby community college. My class was 12 weeks - I think totalling 36 hours. It cost about $300 Good luck.

You do not need to be a college graduate to get a real estate license. You just need to pass an accredited real estate licensing course for your state. Personally, I decided one night to get my license, signed up on-line, passed my course by the end of the month. Course cost around $700. Licensing and Insurance (required) cost another $400. Getting you license requires a background check but you should be able to get everything else done fairly quickly. You could even have your license within two months. When it comes to learning the business though, that's different, but getting you license is easy.

First step is go to a Real Estate office and tell the manager or owner "I want to be a Real Estate sales person".

Their ears will pick up and they will tell you so much so fast, you will be in the real estate business 5 years before you understand what was said. Good Luck it is not an easy field.
